What is post-concussion rehabilitation?
A concussion is a brain injury that occurs when the brain is violently shaken. It may cause physical, cognitive and behavioral symptoms in both the short-term and long-term. A physical therapist can assess the symptoms to determine if a concussion is present and treat the injury by guiding you through a safe and individualized recovery program. Because no two concussions are the same, your physical therapist will examine your neurological, orthopedic and cardiovascular systems to create a rehabilitation plan suited to your symptoms and goals. Our physical therapists are trained in the SCAT5 screening tool for pre-sport baseline testing and return to sport assessment.
